Please bring a deck of Robin Wood (preferred) or Rider Waite styled tarot cards. You will be given a full notebook with definitions and details. If you don't have the cards, I have several decks that can be used during class.
The follow up class is optional, and highly recommended. After you have had the opportunity to practice what you have learned in the course, we will convene to practice, answer all your questions, resolve any difficulties you have encountered, and learn a few new ways to use the cards.
Snacks are inicluded. Please bring your own lunch. Limited refrigerator space is available.

Learn to access information about your purpose, character, and life lessons through the archetypes and wisdom of the Major Arcana cards.
History and lore of the Tarot indicate these concepts and images were a spoken tradition created in Egypt by the High Priests and Priestesses. As they migrated into Eastern Europe with their secret language and knowledge, they eventually put them onto paper to ensure the accuracy of the teachings through generations. These immigrants were referred to as "Gypsies", short for Egyptian.

Continuing to migrate, the Egyptian Major Arcana met up with the Spanish playing deck that we are so familiar with.
Like this deck, the Minor Arcana has four suits and ten numbered cards. The Tarot, however, contains four members of the Royal family, rather than three. Through the Minor Arcana we learn about the activities and people who influence our daily lives, as well as the challenges, support, and conditions.

The interactive teaching techniques used to present the material, involve several sensory modalities, which help you retain the meanings of each card for immediate familiarity and ease.
You will also learn how to choose a deck for yourself, handle the cards, and do a basic Celtic Cross layout.

The way we lay the cards out provides greater depth to the meaning of the cards. Through the positions that the cards fall into, we can look at:
- the energy surrounding the question
- the origin of the issue in the past
- what effect that initial event led to
- what is the next step on the journey of this issue
- and how it turns out in the future
- the driving forces of fear (or avoidance) and our expectations - and how these two forces influence our decisions and actions.
- the opinions of others, whether gossip or true, from spirit guides, family, friends, or foes.
- the long-term result of this path, along with possible steps we can take if we prefer to change that future.

Your course includes a full 42-page binder with detailed definitions of the cards and other information. Your learning continues after the class with home-study activities to increase your awareness of the Tarot and gain insights into your inner self and your life experiences.
Learning can become even easier and much more fun when you take the class with a friend.
When I was first learning, I sat at the kitchen table with 2-4 other friends, also striving to become proficient at reading Tarot cards.
